Welcome everyone to the largest pixel styled game jam hosted ever - Pixel Game Jam! 

This is a 10 Day game developing marathon starting in May 2024  (13:00 GMT+), focused on design, mechanics, and your clever ideas.

The jam has a couple of goals: create pixel based games, have fun and bring the community closer together! Pixel Game Jam, is an event that is organized and hosted by SanForge Studio.

Who can enter?
Anyone, from anywhere. You can work alone or in a small team. Make sure you have an itch.io account and press the big button on this page to join the jam! Don't worry, you are not forced to submit anything after you press the button so go ahead and press it even if you are not sure about being able to join! All participants must be in our discord  and need to get their participation role, to be able to win!

What about Winners?

- Overall Winner:
Organizers & Judges will pick a few games with the highest equal scores, this will eventually be a voting competition on our discord, where the overall winner is publicly voted.

- Beginner's Best:
Best game made by a beginning developer, this is based on your game score,  and has to be marked with the tag #beginner in your itch.io page. 
(Be Aware!! we will check your games on assetflips.)

- Best Use Of Theme with Playroom:
The Best use of theme game made using playroom will also receive a prize, these are decided by our playroom sponsors and the judges.

- Best Public's Choice:
The Best Public's Choice, is chosen by the public! you can only win this reward when you have the most public votes on the itch.io jam page.

keep in mind having the most public votes, do not count as being the overall winner!

Like most of the events, there are also some rules you have to follow during the jam at all times.

- No NSFW games. (Young people are attending here too.)

- Games that are or were made before the jam, are either disqualified or need to be remade on the time of the event with the relevance of the theme.

- You can use any asset (including fonts) from the internet as long as you have the correct license for it, for all your assets  you need to link it in Description.

- Show your credits in the description like names of your teammates and the roles of your team, and preferrably the assets that you have used.

- No assetflips or direct copies of other games this will be instantly disqualified and removed from the jam.

- In the description, don't forget to use tag #beginner whether you're a beginner or not this allows you to participate in the beginners best catagory.

- The game can be a web or .exe build. Aslong as it does not contain any malicious malware etc.

- The game must be pixel or pixel styled at all times, it can be 2D, 3D, Top down, but pixels non the less.

- 3 members in a team is a max, all above is either disqualified or will not receive awards when won. This will be strictly monitored.

- You can only participate when you are in the discord, that is where the prizes will be awarded. You will have 2 days to claim your won award otherwise it will be revoked for next year.

- No work stealing, simply dont steal eachoters work. Unless you have permission from the said team.

- You also acknowledge that the game you make within this jam is able to be used in campaigns and other social media networks of SanForge Studio to promote the game jam.
